By DKZ.2R: The Carpentries Workshop: Intro to Git

As part of our “Trainings” work package, the DKZ.2R curates and provides a variety of trainings, seminars and courses. As a part of this, we are offering an official Carpentries Workshop on the 5th of March on the topic of “Git & Gitlab”.

The Workshop is open to all early career researchers from the Rhine-Ruhr Area. No prior knowledge of Git or Gitlab is necessary. To participate in the course please bring your own Laptop.

We will cover the following Topics (selection):

• Setting up Git
• Basic Git Commands
• Branching and Merging
• Merge Conflicts
• Cherry Picking and Rebasing

Workshop material is available online (Link to Workshop Material) and will be presented by instructors who will walk you through the steps and are available for questions throughout the event.
