DKZ.2R hosts Data Café in Aachen and joins IAS Junior Retreat in Jülich

On June 24, 2025, the DKZ.2R welcomed researchers to its Data Café at the RWTH Aachen University Library. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., experts offered informal one-on-one consultations on the topics of research data management, high-performance computing, and machine learning – offering free iced-coffee with each consultation in a relaxed setting. The low-threshold format was well received by students and researchers across different career stages.

Almost one month earlier, on May 22nd, the DKZ.2R participated in the IAS Junior Retreat at Forschungszentrum Jülich - a key networking event for early-career researchers at the Institute for Advanced Simulation. Around 65 early-career research from the different IAS Institutes took part in the event, which included a networking walk around the campus, a podium discussion, as well as a “market of opportunities”. There, DKZ.2R representatives showcased the center’s services, including data literacy training, consultation, and tools for materials science and simulation research.

With these two events, DKZ.2R continues to establish itself as a trusted hub for data expertise — fostering connections in both the Aachen research community and among young scientists in Jülich. A strong step forward for visibility, networking, and support in data-driven science.
