Prof. Dr. Matthias S. Müller graduated 1996 with a Diploma in Physics and received a Ph.D. from the University of Stuttgart in 2001. From 1999-2005 he worked at the High Performance Computing Center (HLRS) in Stuttgart, Germany. From 2005-2012 he was deputy director and CTO at the Center for Information Services and HPC Dresden(ZIH). He holds a chair in High Performance Computing at RWTH Aachen University. Since 2013 he is director of the IT Center at RWTH Aachen University. He represents RWTH in NFDI e.V. and is co-spokes in several NFDI consortia. His research interests include High Performance Computing, Research Data Management, Parallel Programming Paradigms, Correctness Checking, Performance Analysis, Energy Efficiency and Total Cost of Ownership of HPC. He is a member of ACM, GI, German Physical Society (DPG) and SPEC’s High Performance Group.
